General Information

Black Cube Fellowship Exhibition

Unclassified Site Museum is a site-specific, temporary art installation by SANGREE, an artistic collaboration between René Godínez Pozas and Carlos Lara. Located at a former RTD bus terminal in Denver, Colorado, the installation is inspired by archeological sites in Mexico.

From a distance, the artwork appears to be a large, minimalist sculpture. As one gets closer, the subterranean windows reveal an archeological dig site, in which visible evidence of an ancient civilization can be seen. Within the window, architectural remnants of a multi-family residential compound are revealed. The entirety of the block-long archeological site is visible though the scale-model displayed within the Black Cube shipping container, which is also on-site.
