Anna Uddenberg (b. 1982, Stockholm, Sweden) lives and works in Berlin, Germany. She attended the Städel School in Frankfurt before continuing her studies at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm, where she graduated in 2011. Since then, she has had several solo exhibitions most notably at the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn and at the Marciano Art Foundation in Los Angeles. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions, among them the Fellbach Triennale, the 33rd Biennial of Graphic Arts in Ljubljana, the 6th Athens Biennial, the 9th Berlin Biennale, Manifesta 11 in Zurich and exhibited in various institutions, including MAXXI Rome, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, Kiasma - Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki and the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.

Through the feedback loop of consumerist culture, Uddenberg investigates how body culture, spirituality, and self-staging are intertwined with the mediation and production of subjectivity by new technologies and forms of circulation. Her practice is a space for reflecting on taste/class, appropriation, and sexuality, which integrates earlier approaches to gender theory while pushing these questions into new and intensively material territories.
