POSITION + PURPOSE: Black Cube is seeking a Marketing + Communications Intern to join its team for the duration of one year and assist with messaging, content creation, and storytelling that aligns with the organization’s mission and meaningfully connects with audiences. As a Marketing + Communications Intern, you will gain first-hand experience in the field of communications through the lens of an experimental, nomadic, non-profit visual arts organization. This position will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of unconventional museum models, site-specific art, and artist-forward organizations through marketing research and development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES + RESPONSIBILITIES: Ideal candidates will have an interest in communications and contemporary art, excellent written and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong understanding and passion for Black Cube’s mission and programming. As a Marketing + Communications Intern, you will be an integral part of the team and support with writing, digital strategy, visual communications, drafting and developing timely social media posts cross platform, helping to evolve and create content, maintaining the consistency of Black Cube’s brand and voice, tracking analytics and press archive, and conducting research on media outlets.
HOURS + COMPENSATION: 10 hrs/week, February 1 – December 31, 2023 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday; may work remotely and/or on-site at the Black Cube Headquarters. $18/hr.
*Though this organization is headquartered in the Denver Metro Area, applications are open to interns from all locations who are interested in a remote internship.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High attention to detail, organized, motivated, and self-directed.
- Strong writing, research, and computer skills.
- Ability to act professionally in person and via email/phone communications.
- Clear communication skills.
- Experience with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Including interest in creating Instagram reels and video content.
- Interest in contemporary art and familiarity with the field.
- Enthusiasm for Black Cube’s mission and programs.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate (within the last two years).
- International applicants will be considered but must make their own visa arrangements and be authorized to work in the United States.
- Provide their own transportation.
- Ability to work remotely and maintain regular check-ins with Black Cube staff.
- Black Cube is a drug free workplace, and all employees and interns will be required to take and pass a drug test.
