Location: BCHQ, 2925 S Umatilla St, Fl 2, Englewood, CO 80110. A limited number of parking spots are available in our lot, with additional street parking in the area.

Join Black Cube for the Denver debut of three short films commissioned from Julie Béna, Anna Uddenberg, and Alejandro Almanza Pereda. Through these films, we'll be journeying to Colorado's Great Sand Dunes, controlled gallery environments in New York and Berlin, and the historic brickmaking town of Magdalena, Jalisco, Mexico. Expect blonde wigs, adult diapers, and hands working clay. RSVP via Eventbrite.

An episodic narrative that captures vignettes of traditional brickmaking in a region known for its rich—but disappearing—land for obtaining clay.
Useless Sacrifice, 2024. USA/Germany. Directed by Anna Uddenberg and Thyago Sainte. 20 min.
Rigidly professional women and young, subordinate men act upon Uddenberg’s restrictive, disquieting sculptures.
Dirty Shirley, 2025. USA/Czech Republic. Directed by Julie Béna. 23 min. Co-produced with PLATO and moloko film.
A nightmarish cast of characters follows a Shirley Temple-esque protagonist through settings that reference classic Americana aesthetics: mid-century game shows and the road trip.
